Boehringer Ingelheim names new board member

Boehringer Ingelheim has announced the appointment of Simone Menne to its board of managing directors.

Ms Menne will take up the role as of September 1st 2016 and will assume responsibility for the corporate board division finance. She can boast considerable experience in the field of finance in Germany and abroad.

She has been appointed as the successor to Hubertus von Baumbach, who will be moving into the role of chairman of the board of managing directors on July 1st. He will continue to be responsible for the corporate board division finance until the end of August.

Ms Menne's experience in roles of strategic and operational responsibility makes her an ideal choice to take on this role at Boehringer Ingelheim.

Professor Andreas Barner, the current chairman of the board of managing directors at Boehringer Ingelheim, said: "We have come to know Ms Menne as someone who not only possesses considerable specialist expertise, but who is very open and respectful in her dealings with people. We believe that her experience will enrich the company."
