Boehringer Ingelheim partners with ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic programme
Boehringer Ingelheim has announced a new partnership with the International Society of Feline Medicine's (ISFM's) Cat Friendly Clinic programme.
The scheme, which was established by the veterinary division of the UK-based charity International Cat Care, was developed to raise the standards of care and welfare for cats in the veterinary clinic, offering practical solutions to problems vets face when dealing with felines.
As part of this alliance, Boehringer Ingelheim has agreed to promote the programme and develop informational tools and services to grow veterinarians' and cat owners' knowledge in territories across Europe, Asia, Africa and Australasia.
The aim will be to encourage veterinary clinics to operate in a more cat-friendly way and enhance the clinic experience for animals and their owners, thereby encourage them to bring their cats to the vet more frequently.
Shawn Hooker, head of the pet vet business unit at Boehringer Ingelheim, said: "We share a common goal with ISFM to ensure that all cats receive optimal veterinary care throughout their lives, with regular stress-free health checks and preventive healthcare, and with early diagnosis and treatment of disease."
