Boehringer Ingelheim releases new larger bottle size for Semintra
Boehringer Ingelheim has announced the launch of a new, larger 100 ml bottle size for Semintra for its feline kidney disease therapy Semintra.
The new bottle size has been introduced to help facilitate long-term compliance and convenience for owners of cats with chronic kidney disease. It will last approximately 100 days when treating an average-sized cat weighing four kg.
A once-daily oral liquid treatment, Semintra was the first pharmaceutical product to receive International Cat Care's Easy to Give Award at launch, and is the only angiotensin receptor blocker licensed for use in veterinary medicine.
Cats with chronic kidney disease have an overactive renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), which can lead to proteinuria and further progression of kidney disease. Semintra has been proven to provide targeted long-lasting suppression of the RAAS.
Amy Scott, brand manager for Semintra at Boehringer Ingelheim, said: "The new 100 ml bottle size will ensure that Semintra is even more convenient for owners, whilst facilitating long-term compliance that fits in well with recommended recheck intervals for chronic kidney disease."
The product is also available in a 30 ml bottle size and has a six-month shelf life after opening.
