Boots launches Smoke Less programme at UK pharmacies
Boots has announced the launch of its new Smoke Less plan at 548 pharmacies across the UK this week.
The initiative provides customers with a free flexible programme that provides personalised advice to help them stop smoking, with an online portal offering a range of tools and guidance.
According to a study from the Centre for Economics and Business Research commissioned by Boots, there are more than 160,000 ways of kicking the habit, a message that the pharmacy chain wishes to communicate to consumers.
This coincides with the imminent launch of Stoptober, a government-organised scheme that encourages people to give up smoking throughout the month of October in order to help them break from their dependence on cigarettes.
Nikki Shah, Boots UK's pharmacist, said: "There are now so many ways to stop smoking and a Boots pharmacist can help you choose the right one, as well as offer the all-important ongoing support and advice throughout your quit journey."
Around 160,000 people successfully completed the Stoptober challenge during its successful introduction last year.
