Boots UK hails record-breaking year for Children in Need fundraising
Boots UK has hailed the success of the company's 2017 fundraising efforts for BBC Children in Need, which reached record levels this year.
The firm's staff and customers were able to generate just under 1.56 million pounds for the charity, thanks in large part to its Go Bright campaign, which encouraged customers and colleagues to wear bright clothes and undergo in-store makeovers.
Additionally, Boots stores have been selling official Pudsey merchandise, with a special Boots bonfire and firework evening held in the company's home town of Nottingham.
The money will go towards projects to help disadvantaged children and young people better cope with adversity they face by building their self-confidence, with recipients including the Sneinton Play Centre's Healthy Living Project, which has received Boots funding for the last four years.
Elizabeth Fagan, senior vice-president and managing director of Boots, said: "Together we can really make a difference, helping more young people grow their confidence, resilience and their self-belief."
