Boots UK launches 50 Year Club to celebrate work of veteran staff

23rd June 2017

Boots UK has launched a new initiative called the 50 Year Club to commemorate the contributions made by veteran staff members.

The club celebrates the work of those who have spent 50 years or more working for Boots, with commemorative events to be held annually. New members will be inducted as and when they reach their 50th anniversaries.

The scheme was launched with a special presentation held at the historic Nottingham house of Jesse Boot, the man responsible for turning the company into a national retailer. A total of 20 staff members have been named as founding members of the club.

During the last six decades, these workers have played key roles in facilitating the introduction of key products, overseeing restructuring initiatives and helping the company grow into a wider pharmacy-led health and wellbeing enterprise.

Elizabeth Fagan, senior vice-president and managing director of Boots, said: "Our colleagues are at the very heart of our business, and we know that our success is based on the care that each colleague demonstrates for each other and for their communities."
