Boots UK launches new Sales Assist mobile app

1st July 2016

Boots UK has launched Sales Assist, a new mobile app that will make it easier for staff to provide customers with the products they need.

The IBM MobileFirst for iOS app is designed for use with the iPad and analyses information from Boots' online product databases to help workers make personal recommendations to customers, as well as viewing item locations and online inventory.

If a product is not in stock in a specific store, the app allows users to locate the item in another Boots outlet nearby or purchase the product online, to be collected in-store the next day.

Boots will be using Bluemix, IBM's cloud platform, to link Sales Assist with the company's applications and data, thus guaranteeing a high level of performance.

Robin Phillips, director of omnichannel and development at Boots UK, said: "At Boots UK we're investing in innovative new technology to further improve the retail experience for our customers, and mobility is at the forefront of this transformation."

The pharmacy chain already has 3,700 iPads in its stores, and Sales Assist is expected to further enhance the quality of the company's mobile services.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801821251-ADNFCR
