Boots UK raises one million pounds for Children in Need
Boots UK has announced that it has been able to contribute one million pounds to the BBC's Children in Need charity drive in 2013, thanks to the efforts of its customers and employees.
The pharmacy chain's clients have donated to the fundraising activities of Boots staff members, while also supporting the BearFaced campaign by purchasing No7 skincare products and purchasing Boots-exclusive Pudsey products.
This year, the product range included a Pudsey bear designed specially for the store by TV and radio presenter Fearne Cotton.
It means that Boots has now been able to raise more than six million pounds for Children in Need over the last ten years.
Oonagh Turnbull, senior corporate social responsibility manager at Boots UK, said: "Our presence on the high street, along with our fundraising efforts, means that we can really help BBC Children in Need and make a difference to young lives."
The money will be used to help improve the lives of thousands of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
