Boots UK recognised at 2016 Responsible Business Awards

Boots UK has received recognition from Business in the Community at its Responsible Business Awards for 2016.

The company has won praise for its efforts to inspire young people from all communities to experience the world of work, improve their confidence and identify career opportunities.

As well as running a Work Inspiration programme for more than 200 students every year, the firm launched a new Healthcare Colleague Apprenticeship programme last September, consisting of a one-year apprenticeship in the community healthcare field.

Boots also won praise for working with other businesses to actively share good practice and encourage more apprenticeship and experience opportunities for young people across the UK.

Stephanie May, apprenticeship and access to work programme manager at Boots UK, said: "We strongly believe that we have an important role to play in improving the lives of young people, and helping improve access to work and employment is crucial to this."

The company won the Inspiring Young Talent Award at the Responsible Business Awards in 2014 and the Work Inspiration prize in 2012.
