Boston Scientific agrees marketing deal with BHN

20th April 2010

Boston Scientific has agreed a deal which will allow it to market urinary incontinence testing solutions developed by the specialist company Bladder Health Network (BHN).

The deal will see Boston Scientific add BHN’s female urodynamic testing solutions to its product portfolio, with the BHN platform encompassing software, staffing, equipment, supplies and results analysis.

These treatments are designed to monitor pressure experienced by the bladder in order to help mitigate symptoms such as frequent urination or recurrent infections.

John Pedersen, senior vice-president and president of Boston Scientific’s urology and women’s health division, said the four-year deal is indicative of the company’s “commitment to the women’s health community”.

He added: “The agreement with BHN allows Boston Scientific to introduce healthcare providers to a female continence care platform that offers professional testing and results interpretation.”

Last month, the medical device company published positive trial results from a study of its Taxus Express stents, which showed their efficacy in promoting cardiovascular health among diabetes patients.
