Boston Scientific appoints two new board members
Boston Scientific has announced the appointment of Charles Dockendorff and Stephen MacMillan to its board of directors, effective as of April 1st 2015.
Both new board members are medical industry veterans. Mr Dockendorff was formerly the executive vice-president and chief financial officer of Covidien, and currently serves on the board of Haemonetics and Keysight Technologies.
Meanwhile, Mr MacMillan is currently the president and chief executive officer of Hologic, while prior to this he served as president and chief executive officer of Stryker.
The pair have been appointed following the announcement that current board members Uwe Reinhardt and Bruce Byrnes will not stand for re-election at the company's annual meeting of stockholders in May 2015.
Pete Nicholas, chairman of the board at Boston Scientific, said: "Their extensive experience and management insights will be valuable additions as we continue to deliver meaningful innovation to address the unmet needs of patients around the world."
This comes after the firm announced a deal to acquire the American Medical Systems urology portfolio from Endo International last week.
