Boston Scientific launches new Precision Novi SCS system in Europe

5th June 2015

Boston Scientific has announced the European launch of the new Precision Novi spinal cord stimulator (SCS) system, having received CE Mark approval for the device.

The 16-contact primary cell device is specified for the treatment of chronic pain and is the smallest high-capacity system of its kind currently available. Its launch was confirmed at a recent International Neuromodulation Society meeting in Montreal.

Its enhanced shape is designed to provide a new level of comfort to patients, while the on-board Illumina 3D Software enables physicians to target pain precisely with point-and-click simplicity.

Other advances associated with the system include the smallest high-capacity battery on the market and the fact it is the only primary cell device to come coupled with a wireless remote.

Maulik Nanavaty, president of neuromodulation at Boston Scientific, said: "The Precision Novi System brings the power of our Illumina 3D Algorithm to the more than 60 percent of SCS patients in Europe who are treated with primary cell therapy."

The firm is targeting at or above-market operational revenue growth and consistent double-digit adjusted earnings growth in 2015, building on its strong performance in 2014.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801790192-ADNFCR
