Boston Scientific launches new Rubicon Support Catheter in EU
Boston Scientific has announced the European launch of a new 0.035 inch version of the Rubicon Support Catheter for the treatment of peripheral arterial disease.
The new larger variant complements the 0.018 inch option that was introduced last autumn, providing clinicians with greater choice when using the device to assist placement and support of guidewires used in peripheral vascular procedures.
Additionally, the company is launching both versions of the stent in the US for the first time after receiving clearance from the Food and Drug Administration for the device.
Jeff Mirviss, president of peripheral interventions at Boston Scientific, said: "The Rubicon Support Catheter is one of many new solutions that Boston Scientific has introduced to the market during the past two years and demonstrates our continued commitment to global leadership in peripheral intervention."
This comes after the company commenced the European market rollout of its new Promus Premier everolimus-eluting platinum chromium coronary stent system last month.
