Boston Scientific reports strong growth in third quarter of 2015

2nd November 2015

Boston Scientific has announced strong financial results for the third quarter of 2015, with a sales total of $1.89 billion (1.22 billion pounds) for the period.

This represented an operational revenue increase of nine percent and meant the firm was able to exceed its internal guidance range for the quarter of $1.79 to $1.84 billion. Its earnings per share figure also rose compared to Q3 2014.

The company's performance was driven by strong sales and differentiated adjusted operating margin expansion, with several key products launched and investments made in multiple early-stage companies.

Boston Scientific was also able to complete the acquisition of the interventional business of Bayer and the American Medical Systems male urology portfolio, with work commencing on the integration of this product range.

Mike Mahoney, president and chief executive officer at Boston Scientific, said: "Our global teams continue to advance our mission to transform the lives of patients through innovative medical solutions."

This comes after the firm completed an additional round of financing with MValve Technologies earlier this month, while also gaining the right to acquire the company later on.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801804761-ADNFCR
