Bristol-Myers Squibb and Enterome announce immuno-oncology collaboration

Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced a new collaboration with Enterome that will focus on developing fresh insights in the field of immuno-oncology.

The companies will ally on the discovery and development of microbiome-derived biomarkers, drug targets and bioactive molecules, to be developed as potential companion diagnostics and therapeutics for cancer.

Additionally, the collaboration will seek to identify novel microbiome-derived biomarkers that could help to improve clinical outcomes for patients treated with Bristol-Myers Squibb's existing immuno-oncology therapies.

Enterome specialises in the development of pharmaceuticals and diagnostics based on the gut microbiome, while Bristol-Myers Squibb will contribute its expertise in the creation of novel immunotherapies to the joint project.

Under the terms of the agreement, Bristol-Myers Squibb will receive exclusive rights to any therapies generated during the collaboration, with Enterome to receive an upfront payment of $15 million (12.05 million pounds) for access to its technology, plus research and development funding.
