Bristol-Myers Squibb launches new online leukaemia resource

7th July 2009

Bristol-Myers Squibb has launched a new web-based resource for people with chronic myeloid leukaemia.

The company explained that it had made MyCMLCare.com available as many people living with cancer research their conditions using the internet, noting the statistics have shown that patients that make use of the web consider it a very useful information source.

MyCMLCare.com aims to provide information on a wide array of different issues to both patients and caregivers, including symptoms, tests, treatment goals and side effects, as well as details on how to cope with the condition.

“I would urge patients and caregivers to log on to MyCMLCare.com for more information because it can encourage better communication between patients and their doctors,” said Robert Roy, a patient living with chronic myeloid leukaemia.

In addition, an array of downloadable materials are also available on the site, including a pack detailing potential questions to ask a doctor about the condition.

According to data taken from MyCMLCare.com, around 21,500 people were living with CML in 2007.
