Burson-Marsteller appoints senior director to health team

Burson-Marsteller has strengthened its UK health team with the appointment of Kelly Teasdale as a new senior director.

Ms Teasdale joins the agency from pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, where she has spent the last two-and-a-half years serving as its director of global brand communications and patient advocacy, reports PRWeek.

Prior to this, she was the global managing director and partner at the health and wellbeing agency TogoRun, as well as previously holding positions at Chandler Chicco – now InVentiv Health – and Weber Shandwick.

In her new role at Burson-Marsteller, she will aid the agency's UK healthcare team in its dealings with clients such as Ferring and her former employer AstraZeneca.

Kate Hawker, UK and EMEA healthcare lead for Burson-Marsteller, said Ms Teasdale will "help us to develop our capability in key growth areas for us, such as patient centricity and advocacy".

Burson-Marsteller is the sixth-largest PR firm in the world and deals with a wide variety of healthcare clients. In addition to the work done by its dedicated UK healthcare division, its public affairs team works with companies such as Genomic Health and Gilead Sciences.
