Cardinal Health approves committee appointments

Cardinal Health has approved a number of committee appointments at its annual meeting, in addition to restating the appointment of R Kerry Clark as chairman and chief executive officer of the company following the retirement of Robert L Gerbig.

The company appointed J Michael Losh to the chair of the audit committee and as a member of the executive committee, while selecting Gregory B Kenny as a member of the human resources and compensation committee.

John B McCoy was appointed as chair of the nominating and governance committee, while Richard C Notebaert was chosen as presiding director.

The firm also re-appointed ten directors to the board of the firm while approving a quarterly dividend of $0.12 (0.057 pounds), payable on January 15th 2007.

Mr Clark said: “We are grateful for Bob Gerbig’s 32 years of dedicated service as a director of Cardinal Health.”

He added that the guidance of Mr Gerbig had seen the company transform from a regional food distributor to a diversified global healthcare business.

In May 2007, Cardinal Health announced a number of key appointments, with Stuart G Laws named as vice-president and chief accounting officer and Jim Hinrichs as executive vice-president and controller of the firm.
