Cardinal Health launches new Connect supply system

Cardinal Health has launched the Connect System – a facility designed to assist medical organisations in better controlling their supply expenses.

The utility can help to improve efficiency, minimise incidents of stock running out and cut corners for allows medical professionals to spend more of their time with their patients, the company highlighted.

It consists of an inventory management solution that makes use of product bar codes and scanners and tracks spending on supplies according to departments and test platforms.

“The introduction of the Connect System is an excellent example of Cardinal Health’s commitment to partnering with our lab customers to help them improve efficiency and overall cost effectiveness,” commented Lisa Ashby, senior vice-president and general manager of Cardinal Health’s scientific products business.

In other news, the firm revealed last month that it had appointed a new member to its board of director.

Carrie Cox, who previously worked for Schering-Plough and Pharmacia, took up her new role immediately.
