Cardinal Health provides online dashboards

1st July 2008

Cardinal Health as announced the availability of online dashboards to hospitals to facilitate improvements in supply chain visibility by offering automated supply dispensing and usage data.

The data provided by the online tool aims to offer quick identifications of chances to improve supply chain efficiency.

Known as the Supply Performance Dashboard, the system allows hospitals to view and analyse usage data from installed Pyxis supply technologies, with users guided towards best system practice.
Performance indicators monitored by the system include in-stock percentage, user compliance, inventory accuracy and supply spend analysis, with users given colour-coded visual alerts.

Mike O?Connor, MMIS coordinator at the Flagstaff Medical Centre of Northern Arizona Healthcare, said: “The Supply Performance Dashboard allows our system to be proactive instead of reactive when managing our medical supplies across our hospitals.”

He added the system gives critical information to guarantee supply availability for patient care areas, while also quantifying cost savings achieved via increased efficiency of supply chain management.

Earlier this month, Cardinal Health announced the launch of the Pyxis DuoStation system for the dispensing of medical supplies and drugs to clinicians.

Built on the foundation of the Pyxis SupplyStation and MedStation systems, the new solution uses unique identifiers for nurses, such as fingerprints and ID numbers.
