CareFusion launches automated anaesthesia dispensing systems

13th December 2012

CareFusion has announced the introduction of the Pyxis Anesthesia ES and the Pyxis Anesthesia 4000 systems, for use in the dispensing of anaesthesia medication.

The devices help securely store and dispense medication within operating rooms and procedural areas, utilising an advanced biometric access system and a variety of drawer types for maximum storage capacity and security.

Supporting rapid access to supplies, the systems provide customisable workflow options and electronically capture information on medication removals, wastes and charges.

This helps to keep clinicians' focus on patient needs, making it faster, easier and safer to provide care.

Rusty Frantz, senior vice-president and general manager of dispensing technologies for CareFusion, said: "The new Pyxis Anesthesia systems offer the latest technology to help maximise medication safety, security and workflow efficiency."

These were among several CareFusion products demonstrated at the recent American Society of Health-System Pharmacists mid-year meeting and exhibition, alongside the Alaris Infusion Viewer for Pharmacy Logistics and Rowa Vmax system.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801506153-ADNFCR
