CareFusion launches new smaller ChloraPrep Applicator

CareFusion has announced the launch of a new addition to its ChloraPrep line of preoperative skin preparation products, intended for use with smaller coverage areas.

The ChloraPrep 1 mL applicator offers the same applicator design and formulation as all other members of the ChloraPrep family, but can be used ideally in procedures with an application area of approximately 2.5 square inches or smaller.

Featuring a unique delivery system and winged activation design, the 1 mL applicator is designed to be easy to use and can help promote aseptic technique and best practice.

The ChloraPrep range has been proven to be more effective than povidone-iodine at reducing infection-causing microorganisms on the skin, while their low incidence of irritation and antimicrobial effectiveness are also attractive.

Jan Creidenberg, vice-president and general manager of infection prevention for CareFusion, said: "We continue to extend our skin prep leadership through our commitment to innovation and new product development to better meet our customers' needs."

The company will be hosting a conference call to announce its results for the most recent fiscal year on August 7th 2014.
