CareFusion to introduce new Rowa Dose System

CareFusion has shown off its new Rowa Dose System, an efficient new means of packaging prescribed dosages more efficiently than ever.

Complementing CareFusion's Rowa automated storage and retrieval systems for pharmacies, the new technology allows tablets for individual patients to be packaged in seconds, as well as ensuring the entire process becomes continuous and uninterrupted.

It can be expanded in a modular way to meet specific requirements and benefits pharmacies by preventing human errors, while also improving adherence to medication regimens.

The new technology has been showcased by the company at Expopharm 2012, which took place in Munich last week.

Minne Jorritsma, field manager for packaging systems at CareFusion, said: "Packaging dosages individually for patients is practical, easy to understand and safe. With Rowa Dose everyone benefits – from the pharmacists and nursing staff to the individual patient and his or her relatives."

This comes after the firm recently announced that it will be expanding its global reach through the acquisition of the Brazilian company Intermed Equipamento Medico Hospitalar.
