Carestream Dental adds new imaging option for CS 8100 3D system

Carestream Dental has announced the addition of a new cephalometric imaging option for its CS 8100 3D system, providing four-in-one extraoral imaging capabilities.

A cephalometric imaging option has been introduced, in addition to several new 3D applications. The system can offer the fastest scanning time of any scanning cephalometric unit on the market, completing the process in as little as three seconds.

It also utilises exclusive imaging software to recognise anatomical structures and trace them automatically, allowing the unit to progress from scanning to tracing within 90 seconds. Additionally, its small footprint makes it suitable for practices of all sizes.

The updated 3D applications, meanwhile, include an optional prosthetic-driven implant planning module, the ability to scan traditional impressions or plaster models to create digital versions, and doses that are equal to or lower than panoramic imaging.
