Carestream Dental and Exocad Software to integrate systems

Carestream Dental has announced a new product integration partnership with Exocad Software, a leading dental CAD/CAM software solutions provider.

The partnership will see Exocad's design software offer compatibility with Carestream Dental's CS 3500 intraoral scanner, making it easier for practitioners to acquire true colour, 2D and 3D images.

Clinicians and client labs will be able to collaborate more rapidly using Exocad's Dentalshare cloud service, allowing data and case information to be transferred in very little time.

Additionally, the implementation risk to resellers is expected to be low, due to the integration, validation and certification of Carestream Dental's clinical solutions.

Joe Andrasko, regional product manager for CS Solutions at Carestream Dental, said: "As Carestream Dental expands into the CAD/CAM market, the ability to integrate with other CAD/CAM software providers is critical."

This comes after the firm announced last month that its CS 3000 milling machine has been granted additional certification for use with the Vita Enamic ceramic product.
