Carestream Dental names practice management software unit head

Carestream Dental has announced the appointment of Satish Hemachandran as general manager of its practice management software unit.

He joins the company from Internap, where he served most recently as senior vice-president and general manager of its cloud and hosting services division, helping to successfully integrate several of its acquisitions and reorienting its portfolio strategy.

Prior to this, Mr Hemachandran held leadership roles at Cbeyond and SunGard, having originally began his career with spells at Netscape and Sun Microsystems.

In his new role at Carestream Dental, he will be responsible for overall strategy, resource allocation, operational execution and customer experience for the firm's dental practice management solutions.

Specific objectives include helping the software business to deliver meaningful enhancements and resources for users, such as the recently launched EMR Elite module for CS WinOMS version 9.0.
