Carestream Dental produces 1,000th CS 8100 unit

Carestream Dental has reached a new production milestone for its CS 8100 digital panoramic imaging system after manufacturing its 1,000th unit at its facility in France.

The device was introduced in 2012 and is the first extraoral imaging unit to reach this production quantity in less than one year, underlining the success the company has achieved with the CS 8100 thus far.

Designed with smaller practices in mind, the CS 8100 provides top-quality imaging capabilities and a compact footprint so it can be installed anywhere, while its versatile functionality means it can be used in a wide variety of applications.

The firm has won several accolades for the device in the last few months, including a red dot design award, a DrBicuspid Dental Excellence Award and an international Bronze Medical Design Excellence Award.

Last month, Carestream agreed a debt refinancing arrangement with private equity firm Onex that will help to support its future growth efforts.
