Carestream Dental to launch new workflow optimisation solutions

Carestream Dental has introduced three new solutions for its PracticeWorks and SoftDent practice management software which will allow surgeries to improve their workflow.

The new Scheduler, eForms and eReminders services will be made available in late 2010 and early 2011 and are designed to allow dental professionals to communicate with patients and other practitioners more easily.

Its Scheduler system allows appointments, enquiries and patient information to be managed more effectively, while eForms helps to eliminate needless paperwork by streamlining registration and letting patients fill in details online.

Meanwhile, the eReminders system will provide alerts about imminent appointments to patients via text, voicemail or email.

Robert Patrick, director of product line management of Carestream Dental, said: "The challenges dental offices faced 20 years ago are still present – getting your patients scheduled and keeping your chairs full – but thanks to the advancement of technology doctors are ready to make a change."

Carestream Dental is the new name for PracticeWorks, with the company having changed its name at the beginning of the month in order to create a more unified global brand.
