Carestream Dental wins Edison Award for CS 3500 intraoral scanner

Carestream Dental has been presented with a bronze award for its CS 3500 intraoral scanner at the prestigious 2015 Edison Awards.

The awards programme, which recognises innovation, creativity and ingenuity in the global economy, honoured the Carestream Dental product in the dental 3D printers and services category.

Nominees for the awards are judged by more than 3,000 senior business executives and academics from across the US, including members of the Chief Marketing Officer Council, Design Management Institute and American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

The CS 3500 has won considerable acclaim for the way it allows practitioners to easily acquire true-colour 2D and 3D images without the need for an external heater or trolley system.

Ed Shellard, vice-president for global sales and marketing at Carestream Dental, said: "It's an honour to have the scanner recognised for its innovation; it sets the bar high as we continue to advance this award-winning technology."

This comes after the CS 3500 was recognised by Dentistry Today as one of the top 100 products of 2014.
