Carestream Dental’s CS 3600 validated for use with 3M Incognito system

2nd February 2017

Carestream Dental has announced that its CS 3600 intraoral scanner has been validated for use with 3M's Incognito appliance system.

This means datasets captured using the CS 3600 scanner can be used to produce fully customised lingual brackets, archwires and bonding trays using the Incognito system, which requires highly accurate models to ensure the patient's exact prescription is met.

CS 3600 creates precise and detailed high-definition 3D digital impressions through an easier acquisition method than using traditional polyvinyl siloxane impressions, with its high-speed continuous scanning capabilities making capturing dual arches rapid and easy.

Additionally, its ergonomically-designed, rounded autoclavable and reusable tips can create a more comfortable and hygienic scanning experience for patients.

Edward Shellard, vice-president for sales and marketing at Carestream Dental, said: "The CS 3600 is known for its speed and accuracy, both key factors when creating orthodontic models. Plus, the scanner is part of an open system, which means it is easy for doctors to send their models to 3M."

The company's other intraoral scanner, CS 3500, is also validated for use with the Incognito system.
