Cephalon appoints new oncology business unit general manager

Cephalon has announced the appointment of Craig Phillips to the position of vice-president and general manager of its oncology business unit.

Mr Phillips joined the firm in 2007 as senior group director of sales, national accounts and sales training at the oncology business unit, after spending 15 years working at Johnson & Johnson.

He has a total of 22 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical sector and holds a bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Commenting on the appointment, Robert Roche, executive vice-president of worldwide pharmaceutical operations at Cephalon, said that Mr Phillips has the capacity to “exceed expectations”.

He added: “Craig’s leadership and vision will support the dynamic growth of the Cephalon oncology business and allow us to continue to bring medicines that matter to the healthcare professionals and patients battling cancer.”

Cephalon is due to hold a conference call regarding its second quarter earnings tomorrow (August 4th).
