Ceva launches new feline hypertension workshops for vets

7th June 2016

Ceva Animal Health has announced plans for a series of Hands on Hypertension workshops, designed to educate animal health professionals on the issues surrounding high blood pressure in cats.

Presented by feline specialist Dr Sarah Caney, the one-day event will address a range of topics to ensure that vets and veterinary nurses feel confident in their diagnosis and treatment of feline systemic hypertension.

These include looks at which animals are at greatest risk of the condition, tips on screening strategies, the pros and cons of different blood pressure measurement methodologies, a guide to ocular examination and advice on managing the problem.

The first in the series will be held at Pride Veterinary Centre in Derby on June 28th, and will account for approximately six hours of continuous professional development. It will be filmed and put online later in the year as a webinar.

Rob McLintock, companion animal business unit manager at Ceva Animal Health, said: "We want to ensure that vets and nurses feel more comfortable screening for hypertension and therefore improving the quality of life of their feline patients."

The firm recently launched Amodip, the first amlodipine treatment for hypertension specially designed for cats.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801819868-ADNFCR
