Ceva provides funding to support antimicrobial resistance research

3rd March 2017

Ceva Animal Health has provided funding to support a new project that aims to find new ways to tackle antimicrobial resistance.

A total of 3,000 pounds will be provided to the Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies at Edinburgh University to help fund the student-led project, which aims to find novel approaches to countering a growing public threat.

The donation was funded by allocating 10p from each pack of antibiotics sold by Ceva during a successful 2016 campaign to raise awareness of antimicrobial resistance. This venture also served to promote the benefits of the company's antibiotic product range.

Allison Henry, product manager at Ceva Animal Health, said: "Students are the next generation of veterinary surgeons and if we can educate them about antimicrobial resistance early on, it will have a long-term positive effect."

Ceva's antibiotic range is designed to provide a wide variety of advantages, including palatability, accurate dosing and flexible presentations.

The firm will continue to support efforts to drive responsible antibiotic usage throughout 2017 with the launch of a new guide on the rational use of antimicrobials in dogs and cats.
