Church and Dwight acquires Varied Industries Corporation

9th December 2014

Church and Dwight has announced that it will be acquiring the Iowa-based Varied Industries Corporation, also known as VI-COR.

A manufacturer and seller of feed ingredients for dairy cows, beef cattle, poultry and other livestock, VI-COR's brand portfolio is worth approximately $25 million (15.93 million pounds) in terms of annual sales.

VI-COR's products are yeast-based feed ingredients designed to help improve livestock digestive health and performance. It is thought that its range will complement Church and Dwight's existing dairy nutrition business.

The acquisition was financed with debt and is expected to be earnings-neutral in 2014 and slightly accretive to the firm's earnings-per-share figures in 2015.

A statement said: "This acquisition meets the company's acquisition criteria: the respective brands are leaders in their categories, we believe the business has growth potential, and it is expected to be gross margin accretive to the company."

Church and Dwight expects to achieve organic sales growth of approximately three percent for the 2014 full-year period, based on its performance during the first nine months of the year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801765079-ADNFCR
