Church and Dwight maintains recent growth in Q2 2017
Church and Dwight has reported its financial results for the second quarter of 2017, during which it achieved another spell of solid growth.
The company generated a net sales total of $898 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.3 percent, or a 1.8 percent rise in organic terms. This was driven by continued strong international expansion and strong growth in the specialty products business.
Brands such as Arm and Hammer, Oxiclean, Batiste, Vitafusion and Femfresh were all cited as drivers of growth during the quarter, although incremental couponing and promotional investments impacted net sales growth to a degree.
The firm remains confident of achieving its 2017 business targets and expects reported and organic sales growth of approximately three percent for the full year.
Matthew Farrell, chief executive officer of Church and Dwight, said: "We are pleased with our organic sales growth. In the domestic business, market share gains and volume growth reflect the investments made in the quarter."
This comes after the firm recently agreed a deal to acquire Waterpik, a leading developer of waterjet technology for use in oral water flossers and replacement showerheads.
