Church and Dwight reports third quarter sales growth

15th November 2012

Church and Dwight has expressed satisfaction with its financial performance in the third quarter of 2012, during which it experienced year-on-year growth despite a difficult economic environment.

The company's reported net sales for the period came to $725.2 million (457.73 million pounds) for the period, up by 3.5 percent on Q3 2011, with market share for its four largest brands all increasing.

Its consumer domestic division saw the highest growth rate at 4.8 percent, thanks in part to the performance of its Trojan condom range, which rose to its highest-ever quarterly market share.

The firm now expects 2012 organic net sales growth of approximately 4.5 percent, excluding the impact of the recent Avid Health acquisition.

James Craigie, chairman and chief executive officer of Church and Dwight, said: "We are in a strong position to continue to deliver value to our stockholders as a result of our balanced portfolio of value and premium products, aggressive cost-cutting and tight management of overhead costs."

The takeover of Avid was finalised last month and will add a number of proven consumer vitamin products to the Church and Dwight portfolio.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801488799-ADNFCR
