Church and Dwight sees strong second quarter performance

11th August 2010

Church and Dwight has experienced strong growth in the second quarter of 2010, according to its latest financial report.

Net sales for the consumer products company advanced by 2.9 per cent compared to Q2 2009 to $640.9 million (408.6 million pounds), while earnings per share increased by 20 per cent.

Several new product launches helped to underpin this growth, including additions to its Trojan brand of contraceptives, while international sales in areas including the UK were highlighted as being particularly strong.

James Craigie, chairman and chief executive officer of Church and Dwight, said the performance highlights the continued appeal its products are delivering.

He added: “We are pleased with our second quarter business results in what continues to be a difficult economic and competitive environment.”

The company’s second quarter results build upon its strong performance in the first quarter of 2010, during which sales were up by 9.2 per cent year-on-year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800020953-ADNFCR
