Closed pub may be turned into dental practice

10th March 2017

A closed pub in Bradford could be turned into a new dental practice as part of a local practitioner's expansion plans.

Eccleshill Dental Practice has submitted a planning application to take over the empty Prince of Wales Pub on Harrogate Road, having completed the purchase of the property, the Telegraph and Argus reports.

The plan is to expand the business, which if the planning application is approved will mean the creation of new dental work vacancies.

In his submission, the applicant said the redevelopment of the building as a dental practice would mean "valuable public services remain in the area and there is also the potential for local people to be employed within a growing business".

The applicant added: "All in all, this is a very positive step for the Prince of Wales pub and Eccleshill in its wider context."

However, the Campaign for Real Ale has expressed disappointment at the prospect of the Prince of Wales, which closed two years ago, being permanently lost to the sector.
