Colgate declares April Oral Health Month

9th April 2009

Colgate has made efforts to help the Latino community’s oral health.

Along with the Hispanic Dental Association, it has declared April as Oral Health Month: A World of Healthy Smiles.

General manager of multicultural marketing for Colgate Carla Kelly explained due to the language barrier and unfamiliarity of accessing healthcare services, the Latino population does not have the same level of oral care as other communities.

“Hispanics count on Colgate to be their trusted partner and we are proud to launch this global educational program for the very first time ? to specifically address our consumers’ needs,” she commented.

Earlier this year, the company’s board of directors increased the common stock cash dividend by ten per cent, which will be effective as of the second quarter of 2009.

Chairman, president and chief executive officer of the firm Ian Cook remarked the raise shows the board’s confidence in the strong and profitable growth of Colgate’s global business.

Now selling its products in over 200 countries around the world, the firm’s history dates back to 1806.
