Colgate launches Unsung Hero award scheme for Oral Health Month

16th September 2013

Colgate is running an award scheme to highlight the work of underappreciated dental professionals as part of Oral Health Month 2013.

The company is inviting people across the UK to nominate themselves or someone they know for the accolade by describing how the person in question is making a difference in terms of oral health care and education.

All activities carried out this September will also be eligible for recognition, with the winner securing a Colgate Unsung Hero Award and a 5,000 pound donation for the UK charity of their choosing.

The aim of the competition is to highlight those who are making significant contribution to dental care in their community or working in schools to raise awareness of oral hygiene issues.

It is one of many schemes and campaigns being organised by Colgate and the British Dental Association during Oral Health Month, which runs throughout September 2013 and is marking its 11th year.

The theme for the 2013 campaign is Your Smiles, Your Family, Your Health, with its key messages being to encourage regular tooth brushing and visits to the dentist, as well as the avoidance of sugary snacks and drinks.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801637915-ADNFCR
