Colgate to conduct free dental checkups across Pakistan

3rd November 2008

Colgate-Palmolive is to undertake over 150,000 free dental checkups across Pakistan, according to the Daily Regional Times.

The website adds that the Colgate Dental Health Month is to take place for the fifth consecutive year, in an effort to bring oral health awareness and dental care.

Under the theme of Mission Zero Cavities, the scheme will focus on the importance of having strong, cavity free and healthy teeth and will provide free dental check-ups, which would normally be costly, the article adds.

According to the story, the scheme will take place in 13 towns and cities across the country, with surgeries in dental hospitals, schools and private dental clinics.

Colgate’s Dental Health Month follows the Oral Hygiene in Pakistan to 2011 report, which gave details information covering all the key data points on oral hygiene in the country.

Based on five categories – toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, dental floss and denture care – the report also provides market value, volume, expenditure and consumption data by market, segment and subsegment.

The report adds that Colgate-Palmolive was the market-leading company in 2006, with the second-largest being Dabur India and Herbariu International in third.
