Coltene Whaledent releases financial results

28th August 2009

Coltene Whaledent – a firm dealing in dental products – has announced its financial results for the first half of 2009.

Describing the period as a “difficult” one, due to the recession, the firm revealed that its sales reached 69.7 million Swiss francs (40.34 million pounds) during the first half of 2009.

A margin of 6.5 per cent on the firm’s earnings before interest and taxes was achieved, with a prediction of ten to 14 per cent predicted for the full financial year of 2009.

It revealed that demand for dental products remained static compared to 2008, despite the recession.

Furthermore, the company has forecast a stronger second half of the year, in light of it expanding its arms operating in both China and India and introducing a number of new products in these markets.

Coltene Whaledent is a Swiss firm and has acquired other companies in the past, such as German organisation ROEKO in 2002 and Vermont-based Cutting Edge Instruments in 2007.
