Company’s Co-founder Neil Meredith Returns to Neoss

CEO of Neoss, Robert Gottlander, said that “Neil was not only one of the founders of Neoss, he invented the RFA, the diagnostic technique that has since become Osstell.”

Neil Meredith has spent the last three decades doing dental implant placement and restoration. He received a PhD from Imperial College in 1992 after obtaining an MSc in Fixed Prosthodontics at the Eastman in 1987.

During this time, he also he developed the method currently referred to as Osstell, resonance frequency analysis (RFA) to assess the strength of dental implants, which he was granted a PhD for in 1996 by the University of Gothenburg.

After that, he went back to the UK and took a position at Leeds University as professor of restorative dentistry and biomaterials.

He then started Neoss with Fredrik Engman.

He later decided to revisit his educational endeavours as a Professor at the University of Queensland, Australia, and working at the same time as a prosthodontist and surgeon.

In 2020 Neil changed direction to pursue a career in a specialist practise. As the Dean of the Post Graduate Institute of Dental Surgery, he gets to remain in educate.

Neil Meredith expressed that he is “very happy and excited to rejoin Neoss and to resume my involvement in what I helped to create.”
