Cook Group to expand US headquarters
Cook Growth has planted a tree in a special ceremony at a new facility that it hopes will boost company growth in the coming years.
The medical devices firm purchased the abandoned General Electric refrigerator manufacturing plant in Bloomington last year.
Covering almost a million square feet, it will double Cook’s global headquarters by creating a campus between its existing premises and the new facility, thereby creating at least 500 new jobs over the next decade.
Pete Yonkman, president of Cook Group and Cook Medical, commented: "This building represents an important part of our company’s future. At the same time, we hope to make this project a part our community’s future too."
He added that the company's vision is to take the property and turn it into something that local people can be proud of, as well as an asset that can stimulate growth for the wider business.
