Cook Medical launches 6 new PAD products

22nd October 2009

Cook Medical has launched six further products for the healthcare community that are designed to treat conditions related to peripheral arterial disease (PAD), as well as other circulatory conditions.

One of these is the firm’s new Approach CTO microwires, the first .014-inch wires designed specifically for crossing chronic total occlusions and extremely tight lesions in the peripheral arteries.

Another new instrument is the Zilver 518 RX – a self-expanding nitinol stent with rapid exchange capabilities that ensures accuracy and is designed for use as an adjunct to percutaneous transluminal angioplasty in the iliac.

Rob Lyles, vice-president and global leader of Cook Medical’s peripheral intervention division, stated: “By introducing these six products to the vascular medicine and interventional communities, we are giving [?] interventionalists tools to improve their patient outcomes and deliver actionable solutions to those who need them most.”

In other Cook Medical news, the firm announced the launch of its new online hub earlier this month, which is designed to provide further knowledge and resources to figures in the healthcare industry.
