Cook Medical launches new embolisation offerings

Cook Medical has expanded its embolisation product portfolio with the introduction of its new 2.9 Fr size Cantata microcatheter and Alight microwire.

The Cantata microcatheter features a 0.027-inch inner diameter, complementing the existing existing 0.021 and 0.025 offerings and allowing physicians to deliver a larger range of embolic agents to the target anatomy. This makes it easier to navigate when accessing small and tortuous vessels.

Meanwhile, the Alight microwire is a companion for most microcatheters, available in a variety of lengths and configurations. The 0.016-inch wire is made entirely of nitinol and provides a range of functional benefits.

Andrew Conder, senior global product manager of embolisation at Cook Medical, said: "We are excited to continue expanding our embolisation line. Our goal is to support physicians doing embolisation procedures by providing the products they need when they need them."

This comes after the firm announced the launch of a new compact surgical set for cricothyrotomy applications earlier this month.
