Cook Medical names new president of Cook Biotech

Cook Medical has announced the appointment of Umesh Patel as the new president of its Cook Biotech business unit.

Mr Patel has been with the Cook Group since 1995, when he joined Cook Biotech as operations manager. He was responsible for operations and manufacturing processes involved in the production of extracellular matrix (ECM) devices.

Following this, he took on the role of vice-president of development and engineering in 2000, providing leadership and direction to product development and engineering teams at Cook Biotech, as well as helping to define the strategy for the development of ECM-based medical devices.

His latest promotion will see Mr Patel leverage his understanding of regenerative medicine and tissue-repair products, as well as his wealth of experience at Cook, to deliver strong leadership for the Cook Biotech business.
