Covidien to demonstrate new product range at medical congress

6th October 2010

Covidien will be showcasing a number of its newest products at the annual clinical congress of the American College of Surgeons.

The medical technology company will be previewing a variety of innovative devices at the show, including new offerings in the wound closure, surgical stapling, vascular therapy and respiratory markets.

Among them will be its SILS hand instrument range for laparoscopic procedures, the iDrive right angle linear cutter, the Parietex hernia repair mesh range and the Mallinckrodt TaperGuard endotracheal tube.

Joe Almeida, president of medical devices at Covidien, said its latest offerings will help surgeons to address key challenges in terms of logistics, safety and ease of use.

He added: "We will be showcasing a portfolio of ergonomically superior instruments designed to optimise surgeon performance and improve patient outcomes."

Last month, the company outlined its growth objectives for the 2011 fiscal year, during which it expects to experience a year-on-year net sales growth of between six and nine per cent.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800101582-ADNFCR
