CVS appoints first director for out-of-hours services

13th March 2017

CVS has announced the appointment of Dan Shrimpton as its first out-of-hours director as part of a wider push to become a market leader in out-of-hours services.

He joins the company from the leading veterinary charity PDSA, where he was most recently responsible for the operational management of one-third of the organisation's hospitals.  As such, he can offer considerable expertise in the operational management of veterinary services.

Mr Shrimpton also offers specific experience of out-of-hours services, having been responsible for managing out-of-hours services delivered through PDSA sites for ten years, including the first PDSA site to offer out-of-hours services to private practices in Essex.

Karyn MacKenzie, director of CVS' practice division, said: "The appointment of our first out-of-hours director is a statement of intent that we plan to expand our out-of-hours service while ensuring it sets a new level for quality."

Currently, the company runs out-of-hours services out of 14 practices, but has extensive expansion plans in place for 2017.
