Dako agrees Omnyx digital pathology collaboration
Dako has entered into a collaboration with digital pathology specialist Omnyx on the development of new clinical algorithms that will aid future research.
The partnership will see Dako create image analysis algorithms for inclusion in Omnyx’s digital pathology platform, which allows pathologists to experience improved productivity through the digitisation of glass slides and tissue image data.
This work will be based on Dako’s expertise in staining and image analysis, with the algorithms set to be tailored towards the firm’s range of immunohistochemical and in-situ hybridisation tests for breast cancer.
Lars Holmkvist, chief executive officer of Dako, said the partnership will help to improve the standard and accuracy of cancer diagnoses.
He added: “This agreement with Omnyx is another important step in the implementation of our strategy by joining forces with strong digital pathology partners.”
Earlier this year, the company launched the HercepTest and HER2 FISH pharmDx cancer diagnostic testing systems, after being granted CE-mark accreditation.
